Quick Take
A sibling rivalry within Arrma's own 6S lineup. Same motor, same electronics, same 6S power, but the Notorious is a stunt truck and the Outcast is a truggy. The differences are subtle but real, especially in body style and handling.
This is the comparison that confuses more people than any other in the Arrma lineup. The Notorious 6S BLX and Outcast 6S BLX share the same Firma 150A ESC, the same Firma 2050Kv brushless motor, and identical 6S capability. Both hit 60 mph. Both run on the same basic EXB chassis platform. So what's actually different? It starts with the body and wheelbase configuration. The Outcast runs a truggy-style body with a 13.15-inch wheelbase versus the Notorious's stunt truck body on a 12.91-inch wheelbase. The Outcast is also slightly longer at 21.46 inches compared to 21.26, but meaningfully narrower at 16.14 inches versus the Notorious's 18.15 inches. That 2-inch width difference is visible at a glance and matters in practice.
The width gap is the most significant handling distinction between these two trucks. The Notorious's wider stance makes it more stable for side-to-side driving, landing tricks where you might be slightly off-axis, and general confidence at speed. The Outcast's narrower profile gives it slightly better high-speed aerodynamics and a more agile feel when threading through tight sections. Think of it as the difference between a wide-stance football lineman and a narrower, quicker running back, same power, different application. The Notorious weighs 11.38 lbs versus the Outcast at 10.58 lbs, giving the Outcast a weight advantage of nearly a full pound. That matters in the air. The lighter Outcast rotates more easily for flips and barrel rolls and is marginally easier to control mid-jump.
Both trucks share identical ground clearance at 2.17 inches and identical waterproof ratings. Battery compatibility is exactly the same. 5000mAh 6S packs fit both trucks identically. Runtime will be nearly identical since the power systems are shared and the weight difference is modest. Durability is essentially a wash since they use the same chassis components, differentials, and drivetrain parts throughout. Many of the wear items and spare parts are literally interchangeable between the two trucks, which is actually a nice bonus if you eventually own both or find one truck's parts in stock when the other is backordered. Servos, shocks, arms, and other consumables cross over directly.
The Outcast at its mid-range price costs modestly more than the Notorious, which is really hard to justify given the shared platform underneath. That price gap likely reflects the truggy body tooling costs or simple market positioning rather than meaningful hardware differences. The total ownership cost is identical since they eat the same batteries, use the same parts, and break the same components. For pure stunt driving (wheelies, backflips, nose dives, and vertical launches), the Notorious's wider stance and stunt truck geometry give it a slight edge in stability during and after tricks. For all-around bashing where you want a mix of speed, stunts, and trail running, the Outcast's truggy body offers somewhat better aerodynamics and the lighter weight provides a small but real bonus. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either. If the matters to your budget, the Notorious is the better deal with the wider stance as a cherry on top.
Save a modest price and get the wider truck. The Notorious is the stunt specialist with identical 6S guts. Unless you specifically want the truggy body, this is the better deal.
Full reviewThe Outcast is a pound lighter and narrower, better for all-around bashing. But the price premium over the Notorious is hard to justify when the internals are identical.
