Kids will find water. Waterproof is a must. For kids under 8, stick to 1/24 or 1/18 scale: small enough for indoors, slow enough to be safe. Ages 8–12 can handle 1/16 or 1/10 scale with speeds under 30 mph. Skip the 6S trucks until they've proven they can handle a slower car without destroying it. And always buy a model with good parts availability — kids break things, and fast repairs keep the fun going.
