The Arrma Granite 3S BLX at its price point and Losi LMT Grave Digger at its mid-range price sit in the monster truck category but deliver completely different experiences once the wheels start turning. The Granite is a modern independent-suspension basher designed for speed and all-terrain capability. The LMT is a solid-axle monster truck designed to replicate full-size monster truck physics, complete with standing wheelies, power stoppies, and a Grave Digger body that needs absolutely no introduction to anyone who has watched a monster jam event.
The Granite is faster at 50 mph versus the LMT's 40 mph, significantly lighter at 6.2 lbs versus 11.13 lbs, and costs considerably less. On a pure spec-sheet comparison, the Granite wins easily and it's not close. But the LMT does things the Granite physically cannot do, and those things are exactly what draw people to the Losi. The LMT's physical presence is commanding. At 22.84 inches long and 13.39-inch wheelbase, it dwarfs the Granite's 18.74-inch length and 11.3-inch wheelbase. The tires alone are enormous, giving it a visual scale and authority that stops people at the park. This is a seriously large vehicle that attracts attention and creates spectacle. Rolling up to a bash spot with a Grave Digger LMT gets reactions that a Granite never will.
Build quality on the LMT reflects its premium positioning and unique engineering requirements. CNC-machined aluminum components, metal-geared servos capable of handling 11+ lbs of truck, and a robust drivetrain built for the high-torque situations that solid-axle wheelies create. The Granite uses appropriate-for-the-price components that handle 50 mph bashing well but aren't designed for the sustained torque loads the LMT experiences during stunt driving. The LMT is not waterproof from the factory, which is a genuine miss at its mid-range price. The Granite seals its electronics.
Battery costs favor the Granite. Its 3200mAh 3S spec is affordable and widely available. The LMT wants 5000mAh 3S packs for adequate runtime, which cost more upfront. Given the LMT's 11+ lb weight and solid-axle drivetrain drag, it drains batteries meaningfully faster than the Granite despite running at lower top speeds. Plan on shorter sessions or multiple battery packs with the LMT.
The choice here isn't really about specs. It's about what puts a bigger smile on your face. The Granite is the better all-around basher by every measurable metric: faster, more practical, cheaper to buy and run, and waterproof. The LMT Grave Digger offers a unique experience that brings full-size monster truck physics to your backyard with the most recognizable body in motorsport. If you want efficiency and performance per dollar, buy the Granite. If you want to do standing wheelies while your truck wears the most famous livery in monster truck history, the LMT is worth every extra penny and then some.
